British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua is reportedly exploring the possibility of staging his next bout on African soil, in what could be a landmark event for the continent’s sporting scene.

While details remain under wraps, sources close to the former heavyweight champion suggest that Africa — potentially Nigeria, his country of heritage — is among the top locations being considered for his upcoming fight.

If confirmed, the event would mark a significant return of world-class boxing to Africa, echoing the historic “Rumble in the Jungle” bout between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman held in Zaire (now DR Congo) in 1974.

Joshua, a two-time unified heavyweight champion, has expressed interest in fighting in Africa in the past, citing personal ties and a desire to inspire the next generation of African athletes.
