Paris Saint-Germain secures Champions League semi-final berth with stunning win over Barcelona
Paris Saint-Germain produced a remarkable performance on Tuesday evening, defeating ten-man Barcelona 4-1 to advance to the Champions League semi-finals.
Barcelona held a 3-2 aggregate lead from the first leg but quickly extended their advantage with Raphinha’s early goal. However, their momentum was halted when Ronald Araujo received a red card just before the half-hour mark for denying Bradley Barcola a clear scoring opportunity. Ousmane Dembele equalized for PSG before halftime.
Vitinha leveled the aggregate score with a superb long-range strike in the second half, followed by Kylian Mbappe’s brace to seal PSG’s place in the final four.
PSG made a challenging start, with Raphinha scoring for Barcelona in the 13th minute. However, PSG responded strongly, with Mbappe testing Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s goal.
Araujo’s red card shifted the momentum in PSG’s favor, leading to Dembele’s equalizer just before halftime. The visitors dominated the second half, with Vitinha and Mbappe extending their lead through stunning goals.
Despite Barcelona’s efforts to rally, PSG secured victory with Mbappe’s second goal in the closing minutes, sealing a memorable comeback and a place in the Champions League semi-finals.
