Unified world champion Ellie Scotney is set for the biggest fight of her career as she aims to become the undisputed super-bantamweight champion. The undefeated Brit will face WBA titleholder Mayeli Flores on the undercard of the highly anticipated Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis event, scheduled for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

The bout was officially announced earlier today, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash between two of the division’s top talents.

Scotney (11-0) enters the fight as the heavy favourite, coming off a dominant win in July over Yamileth Mercado to claim the WBC belt. That victory added to her collection of major titles, having already defeated Cherneka Johnson and Segolene Lefebvre in similarly one-sided performances.

The 27-year-old south Londoner featured on the historic all-women’s card headlined by Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3, where her clinical dismantling of Mercado put her on the cusp of undisputed status. While she narrowly missed out on MVP Promotions’ performance bonus, her superiority in the ring was unquestionable.

Standing in her path is Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs), who captured the WBA title in May via a split-decision win over previously unbeaten Nazarena Romero. That victory marked redemption for the Mexican, who previously fell short in a 2022 title challenge against Yuliahn Luna Avila for the WBC crown.

Despite Scotney’s resume and momentum, Flores has earned her shot at glory, having proven her resilience and championship mettle.

This will be Scotney’s second appearance under the MVP Promotions banner, and her presence on the undercard brings further legitimacy to an event that blends spectacle with serious sporting stakes.
