Jack Catterall tops Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 Undercard in London
A former undisputed world title challenger will top the undercard for the highly anticipated Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 rematch, set for November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In April, the same venue played host to the fierce rivals’ first meeting, supported by a stacked lineup that included Liam Smith vs Aaron McKenna, Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur 3, Cheavon Clarke vs Viddal Riley, and Chris Billam-Smith vs Brandon Glanton. This time around, five undercard bouts have been confirmed, led by Jack Catterall (31-2, 13 KOs).
The Chorley southpaw — who finally avenged his controversial loss to Josh Taylor in May 2024 — now returns under the guidance of top U.S. trainer Bozy Ennis. Catterall will face Ekow Essuman (22-1, 8 KOs), who himself shocked Taylor in Glasgow just four months after Catterall’s win, creating an intriguing shared history between the two.
Azim vs Abdullaev: Rising Star Meets Proven Test
Also on the bill is unbeaten super-lightweight sensation Adam Azim (13-0, 10 KOs), who returns from a nine-month layoff to take on seasoned Russian contender Zaur Abdullaev (20-2, 12 KOs). Abdullaev, who recently lost on points to Raymond Muratalla in an interim IBF lightweight title bout, is moving up five pounds to challenge Azim’s blistering speed and rising profile. Azim last fought in February, stopping veteran Sergey Lipinets in emphatic fashion.
Riakporhe Moves Up to Heavyweight
Former cruiserweight world title challenger Richard Riakporhe (18-1, 14 KOs) continues his journey as a heavyweight, squaring off with unbeaten Tommy Welch (16-0, 9 KOs). Riakporhe, now training with Billy Nelson, had been scheduled to face Lawrence Okolie in April before injury derailed the bout. Welch, son of former British heavyweight champ Scott Welch, has compiled a solid record in lower-profile bouts but faces a significant leap in class.
Gilley Returns, Tallon Stays Active
In a compelling domestic clash, former English and Commonwealth super-welterweight champion Sam Gilley (18-1-1, 9 KOs) takes on Ishmael Davis (13-3, 6 KOs), who is coming off a competitive loss to Caoimhin Agyarko in Belfast.
Rounding out the card is rising flyweight Mikie Tallon (10-0, 1 KO), fresh off a victory in Las Vegas. Trained by Joe Gallagher, Tallon will meet Fezan Shahid (4-2-2) in his 11th professional outing.
