Champions League: Guardiola Explains Haaland’s Scoring Challenges Against Real Madrid

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola offered insight into Erling Haaland’s inability to score against Real Madrid.

Haaland was also unable to find the net against the LaLiga giants last season across two matches.

Guardiola credited Aurelio Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger for effectively marking Haaland in their recent 3-3 draw.

Guardiola noted the defensive efforts, saying, “He had two central defenders near him. Haaland is young and has room to improve, but overall, team performance matters more for progress.”
