PDC European Tour Order of Merit Update: Stephen Bunting Advances to Second Place, Ritchie Edhouse Unable to Defend Dortmund Title

His hopes were dashed after a heavy 6-0 defeat to Raymond van Barneveld at the Swiss Darts Trophy, leaving him outside the top 32 required to reach the European Championship in Dortmund (23–26 October).

While Edhouse’s campaign ended in disappointment, Van Barneveld enjoyed a strong weekend in Basel. The five-time World Champion reached the quarter-finals with wins over Ansh Sood, Damon Heta, and Edhouse before falling 6-2 to eventual winner Stephen Bunting. The run earned Van Barneveld £6,000 and moved him up to 28th on the Order of Merit, securing his place in Dortmund and late qualification for the World Grand Prix.

With one Euro Tour stop left, Van Barneveld now holds a £4,500 cushion over Edhouse and a £6,000 lead over 34th-placed Dave Chisnall, who still has an outside shot at qualifying.

Bunting Climbs to Second After Swiss Triumph

Stephen Bunting claimed his second Euro Tour title of the season with victory at the Swiss Darts Trophy, defeating Chris Landman (6-3), Krzysztof Ratajski (6-3), Van Barneveld (6-2), Gian van Veen (7-6), and Luke Woodhouse (8-3) en route to the title.

The win earned ‘The Bullet’ £30,000 and lifted him to second place on the Order of Merit with £82,000 — just behind Nathan Aspinall, who leads with £83,500.

The top of the leaderboard remains tight:

Ross Smith, who withdrew late from the Swiss event, holds 10th place with £52,500, followed by Gary Anderson (£50,500) and James Wade (£50,000).
