Dessers in Advanced Negotiations to Join Ekong at PAOK

According to Novasports.gr, PAOK is in talks with Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers from Glasgow Rangers, who has previously been the top scorer in a European tournament.

PAOK is actively seeking to strengthen their offensive line in the transfer market. Reports indicated that Danish striker Martin Braithwaite was a priority for the team’s striker position next season.

However, Novasports.gr reports that PAOK is also seriously considering Dessers. Discussions with Dessers are at an advanced stage, with a financial offer already submitted. Manager Razvan Lucescu aims to have his main striker ready ahead of the team’s preparations. PAOK is striving to be the first Greek team to participate in the new format of the Champions League through the qualifiers.

Dessers, who has six caps for Nigeria, brings considerable experience in European competitions. In the 2021/22 season, he was the top scorer in the UEFA Conference League with 10 goals in 13 games for Dutch side Feyenoord. Last summer, in four Champions League qualifiers, he scored once against Servette and provided two assists in Rangers’ 2-2 draw with PSV Eindhoven.
