EPL: Shearer gives predictions for Aston Villa vs Arsenal, Man Utd, and Chelsea matches

Former Newcastle United captain, Alan Shearer, has offered his predictions for several upcoming Premier League fixtures as the season heads into Match Day 2.

In an interview with BetFair, Shearer shared his thoughts on key matches taking place this Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, Brighton will face Manchester United in the early kick-off, while Aston Villa takes on Arsenal at Villa Park in the evening. Meanwhile, reigning champions Manchester City will host Ipswich in one of the day’s fixtures.

Sunday sees Liverpool welcoming Brentford to Anfield, and Chelsea traveling to Wolves for their away match.

Shearer commented: “Brighton vs. Manchester United – It’s a tough one for Manchester United, especially against a side that won by three goals away last weekend. I’m expecting a score draw here.

“Aston Villa vs. Arsenal – I think Villa can pull off a win. A scoreless draw wouldn’t surprise me, but I’m predicting a home win for Aston Villa.

“Manchester City vs. Ipswich Town – Wolves showed resilience against Arsenal after a rough first half, but I think they’ll win this one.

“Liverpool vs. Brentford – Brentford had a good start against Crystal Palace, but Liverpool were brilliant in the second half against Ipswich. I expect nothing but a home win at Anfield.”
