Home-based Super Eagles captain, Junior Nduka, has stressed the importance of finishing strong as Nigeria prepares for their final group match at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

According to Nigeria News 247, Nigeria has already been eliminated from the tournament after back-to-back defeats to Senegal and Sudan. The team is yet to register a goal and has conceded five in total.

The Super Eagles will face Congo today (Tuesday) at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, with kick-off scheduled for 6 p.m. Nigerian time.

Despite the early exit, Nduka said the squad is determined to restore some pride in their final outing.

“We need a win for the country. We’ll give everything against Congo,” the central defender told CAFonline. “The two defeats affected us, but we must bounce back.”

Eric Chelle’s side will be hoping to end their CHAN campaign on a positive note and avoid leaving the tournament without a single point or goal.
