Arsenal legend Ian Wright has called on manager Mikel Arteta to consistently start Gabriel Martinelli and Eberechi Eze, following the team’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

Both players began the Premier League clash on the bench at the Emirates Stadium, but made significant impacts after being introduced in the second half. Eze provided the assist for Martinelli’s dramatic 93rd-minute equalizer, canceling out Erling Haaland’s early opener for City.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Wright questioned Arteta’s decision to bench the duo in such a crucial fixture.

“In my eyes, I’m starting Martinelli and Eze,” Wright said. “Martinelli can get the crowd going. Eze can make those passes — like we saw him do. We need to start that quickly.”

Wright also noted the uncharacteristically defensive approach from Manchester City during the match. “We’re looking at a City side who came to defend. When have you ever seen that? We’ve never seen that before.”

Arsenal fans will now be watching closely to see if Arteta makes adjustments in the next fixture, especially after the influential cameos from both Martinelli and Eze.
