EPL: Micah Richards Snubs Liverpool and Arsenal, Names Favourite to Win Title

Former England defender, Micah Richards has tipped Manchester City to win the Premier League this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, shortly after nine of the ten opening day matches had concluded, Richards expressed confidence in City’s ability to bounce back.

After dominating the league with four consecutive titles, Manchester City were dethroned last season by Liverpool, who finished 10 points ahead of Arsenal. The Gunners had secured second place for the past three seasons.

Richards, however, expects City to reclaim the top spot and finish ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal this year.

When asked for his season predictions, Richards ranked the top five clubs as follows: “Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur.”

The new campaign began strongly for City with a 4-0 victory over Wolves. Liverpool also enjoyed a high-scoring 4-2 win against Bournemouth, while Arsenal narrowly defeated Manchester United 1-0.
