Neymar Expresses Shame After Santos Suffer 6-0 Loss to Vasco da Gama

Santos captain, Neymar has openly admitted to feeling ashamed following his team’s humiliating 6–0 loss to Vasco da Gama on Sunday at the Estádio do Morumbi.

Vasco da Gama dominated the match, with goals from Piton, David, Philippe Coutinho, Rayan, and Tchê Tchê sealing a comprehensive victory over Santos.

Speaking to The TouchlineX after the match, an emotional Neymar did not hold back in his assessment of the team’s performance.

“We were terrible. It was a disgrace,” Neymar said. “The fans have every right to be angry, to curse and insult us today—it’s understandable. I feel ashamed. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life.”

The heavy defeat marks a low point for the Brazilian star since returning to lead Santos, the club where he began his professional career.

Santos will look to bounce back when they face Bahia in their next fixture on Sunday.
