‘He called me’ – Sancho reveals who persuaded him to join Chelsea

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has revealed who convinced him to join Chelsea on loan during the recent transfer window.

The England international made a last-minute loan move to Chelsea, with an option for a permanent deal.

Sancho credited Blues manager Enzo Maresca for his decision to switch to Stamford Bridge.

After finalizing the loan for the 2024-25 season, Sancho, who will wear the No. 19 jersey, expressed his excitement about the move.

“Enzo Maresca really attracted me to the project. I knew him from his time with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City,” Sancho told Chelsea’s official website.

“He spoke to me over the phone about the project and what he’s building here. For a young player like me, it’s thrilling, and I can’t wait to get started.”
