Heartland FC players and Staff injured in an Accident

On Friday, the vehicle carrying Heartland Football Club’s players and officials was involved in a severe accident in Umunna, near Okigwe, Imo State.

The team was en route to Abakaliki for the Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre-season Tournament when the incident occurred.

Several players and officials sustained injuries of varying degrees and received initial treatment at a nearby medical facility. Heartland FC, a former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, confirmed the accident in a statement, explaining that the vehicle swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and collided with another car that was parked carelessly following a separate accident.”
