Luis Figo Names Top Three Contenders for 2025 Ballon d’Or

Former Real Madrid star Luis Figo has revealed his top three picks for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, naming Ousmane Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, and Vitinha as standout candidates.

The winner of this year’s prestigious award will be announced in September, and while the race remains wide open, Figo believes these three players have made strong cases based on their performances last season.

“There are several players who deserve the trophy based on their season,” Figo told Sport Bible. “My opinion is irrelevant; the people voting are the ones who decide. But I like players like Lamine [Yamal]; Vitinha, who has won everything this season.”

He also highlighted Dembélé’s contributions, saying: “Dembele has done very well too… It depends on whether you’re evaluating individual performance or the titles a player has won.”

All three players impressed for their respective clubs, with Vitinha in particular enjoying a trophy-laden campaign, boosting his chances in the Ballon d’Or conversation.
