New NPFL Season to Begin on August 31

The 2024–25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will begin on Saturday, August 31, according to a report by NIGERIA NEWS 247.

NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye made the announcement on the organization’s Facebook page.

The 2023–24 season concluded last weekend with Rangers clinching the title.

The Flying Antelopes received a giant trophy and N150 million for winning the NPFL championship for the eighth time.

Remo Stars and Enyimba finished in second and third positions, respectively.

Four clubs—Sporting Lagos, Doma United, Heartland, and Gombe United—were relegated to the Nigeria National League.
