NPFL: Ariyo succeeds Abe as Sunshine Stars captain

David Ariyo has been appointed the new captain of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Sunshine Stars, according to NIGERIA NEWS 247.

Ariyo takes over from Sunday Abe, who retired from professional football last week.

The experienced goalkeeper served as Sunshine Stars’ vice-captain last season and has been with the club since 2017.

Sunshine Stars will begin their 2024-25 season with a match against Bayelsa United at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday (today).
