Real Madrid snatch 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich with late Vinicius penalty
In a thrilling first leg of their Champions League semi-final, Real Madrid secured a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich with a late penalty from Vinicius Junior.
Vinicius initially opened the scoring in the first half, but Bayern quickly turned the game around with goals from Leroy Sane and Harry Kane shortly after the break.
The draw sets the stage for an intense showdown at the Santiago Bernabeu next week, where both teams will battle for a spot in the Champions League final.
The match started with Bayern’s strong attack, as Sane and Musiala tested Madrid’s defense early on. However, it was Madrid who took the lead against the run of play, with Vinicius capitalizing on a through-ball from Kroos.
Despite Bayern’s continued pressure, Madrid’s defense held firm until Sane unleashed a powerful strike to equalize. Just minutes later, Kane converted a penalty to put Bayern ahead.
Madrid fought back, with Dier and Vinicius threatening Neuer’s goal. In the dying minutes, Madrid earned a penalty of their own, and Vinicius calmly converted to salvage a draw for his team.
