Super Eagles Defender Tanimu Joins League One Club

English League One club Crawley Town has secured Nigerian defender Benjamin Tanimu on a permanent deal.

Tanimu, who previously played for Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars, joins Crawley Town for a transfer fee of $850,000. The 22-year-old has signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Singida Black Stars announced the deal on Friday, noting that the agreement includes a direct transfer fee and a 20% sell-on fee. The total value of the transfer, including performance-related bonuses, is estimated to be no less than $850,000.

Tanimu, who has earned three caps for Nigeria, also had a stint with Bendel Insurance.
