Super Falcons Gear Up for Glory as WAFCON 2026 Camp Opens February 20
Nigeria’s Super Falcons are set to commence preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with the opening of their training camp on Friday, February 20.
Head coach Justine Madugu will lead the squad in Abuja, where the players will begin training before travelling to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, for the WAFU B Invitational Tournament.
The competition, scheduled to run from February 27 to March 7, will also feature Ghana and Senegal.
As defending African champions, the Super Falcons are expected to play additional friendly matches as part of their build-up to the WAFCON 2026 finals.
The tournament will double as Africa’s qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Brazil, with the four semi-finalists securing World Cup tickets.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group C for the finals, where they will face Zambia, Egypt and Malawi.
