The Nigeria Football Federation has announced plans to enhance officiating standards for the upcoming 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. NFF Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, made this commitment during the NPFL Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Abuja.

Gusau assured stakeholders that the NFF would provide communication aids for referees, aiming to minimize errors and improve overall officiating quality in the league. Additionally, he emphasized plans to collaborate with international partners to train referees in the effective use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.

“We have already procured communication gadgets designed to reduce officiating errors, which will be deployed for the upcoming season,” stated Gusau during the AGM.
