Transfer: Chelsea resume direct talks with Osimhen, Al Ahli waiting in the wings

There is still a chance for Victor Osimhen to join Chelsea this summer. After weeks of negotiations and disagreements over the player’s salary, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that direct talks between Chelsea and Osimhen’s representatives will “continue on Wednesday.”

Osimhen’s demand for a weekly salary of £500,000 has been a sticking point in his potential move to Stamford Bridge.

The striker has been a top target for Chelsea throughout the summer, and the deal could gain momentum in the final week of the transfer window.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is keen to sign a new striker, with Osimhen as the top priority.

Osimhen and Napoli have reportedly agreed to part ways, with Romelu Lukaku set to join the Italian side from Chelsea.

Romano also mentioned that Al Ahli’s offer remains on the table but will only be considered if Chelsea fails to reach an agreement with Osimhen.

Regarding other transfer news, Romano noted that Chelsea could pursue Jadon Sancho if Manchester United shows interest in Raheem Sterling.
