Transfer Update: Manchester United to Appoint Former Midfielder as Coach in Ashworth’s Team

Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Appleton is on the brink of rejoining Old Trafford, set to take up the role of loan manager within Dan Ashworth’s newly established transfer team.

Following Ashworth’s appointment as the club’s new sporting director, Manchester United is nearing the completion of Appleton’s appointment, as reported by The Sun.

A product of United’s youth academy, Appleton will oversee the management of loan deals both incoming and outgoing for the club.

After a playing career that saw him represent several English clubs before retiring in 2003, the 48-year-old transitioned to management with stints at Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers, and Leicester City.
