Philippines Confirmed as Host for 2029 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
The Philippines has been officially named the host for the 2029 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, marking a historic first for the country to stage volleyball’s premier women’s event. The announcement was made just before the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship final in Manila, underscoring the Philippines’ rising prominence on the global volleyball stage.
The nation earned widespread praise for its successful hosting of the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship, noted for excellent organization, passionate crowds, and genuine hospitality. FIVB President Fabio Azevedo highlighted that the 2029 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship will once again showcase volleyball’s unique ability to unite communities and inspire future generations.
Officials from Volleyball World and the Asian Volleyball Confederation expressed their commitment to building on the momentum of 2025, vowing to deliver a “spectacular” tournament that will leave a lasting legacy for Philippine sports and tourism.
The 2029 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship will follow the 2027 edition co-hosted by the USA and Canada, while Qatar prepares to host the 2029 Men’s World Championship.
