The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has officially announced that the United States and Canada will co-host the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, while Qatar will stage the Men’s tournament in 2029. The decision was finalized during the FIVB Board of Administration meeting, held in conjunction with the ongoing Men’s World Championship in the Philippines.

This marks a historic milestone, as it will be the first time the prestigious tournament is held in the USA, Canada, and Qatar.

The 2027 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship finals are set to take place at the Honda Center and the upcoming OCVIBE complex in Anaheim, California. Additional host cities across both countries will be announced at a later date. Meanwhile, the 2029 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship will be hosted in Doha, making its debut in the Middle East.

It’s worth noting that Poland has already been confirmed as the host nation for the 2027 Men’s World Championship.

FIVB President Fabio Azevedo emphasized that these new host selections align with the federation’s mission to expand the global footprint of volleyball and create lasting legacies in new regions. Volleyball World CEO Ugo Valensi added that the move will help deepen engagement with fans in both North America and the Middle East.

Each World Championship will feature 32 national teams competing in 64 matches over a span of 17 days.
