In his Independence Day address, President Bola Tinubu expressed optimism about the country’s future, declaring that “the worst is over” following recent economic challenges and reforms.
Highlighting Nigeria’s economic progress, Tinubu pointed to a 4.23% GDP growth in the second quarter—the highest in four years—alongside easing inflation at 20.12%, rising foreign reserves, and increased oil production.
The president also announced the distribution of N330 billion to eight million vulnerable households through the government’s social investment program, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure development across the country.
President Tinubu called on Nigerians to foster peace, tolerance, and cooperation, emphasizing that while differences are natural, they must not obstruct the nation’s collective progress.
