US President, Donald Trump has expressed his hope that Tyler Robinson, the suspected killer of Charlie Kirk, will receive the death penalty.

Robinson, 22, was arrested by the FBI following a two-day manhunt in Utah. He was apprehended after his father, Matt Robinson, turned him in.

Law enforcement officials said Matt extracted a confession from his son before contacting a clergyman, who then informed the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. US Marshals arrested Tyler Robinson at around 10 p.m. local time.

Trump described Charlie Kirk as “the finest person” who “didn’t deserve this,” adding, “He worked so hard, and so well. Everybody liked him.”

Kirk, 31, a father of two, was fatally shot by a gunman who fired a single shot from a hunting rifle across the campus of Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
