Israel responds to Ireland, Norway announcing recognition of a Palestinian state

The Foreign Minister of the State of Israel, Israel Katz, responded to Ireland, Norway, and Spain announcing recognition of a Palestinian state.

Nigeria News 247 earlier reported that Ireland, Norway, and Spain announced their recognition of a Palestinian state.

Israel Katz said that Israel will not silently ignore this issue, and that he had ordered the Israeli ambassadors from Dublin and Oslo to be returned to Israel for urgent consultations in Jerusalem. His full response reads:

“Today I am sending a strong message to Ireland and Norway that Israel will not silently ignore this issue (by announcing recognition of a Palestinian state).”

“I have just ordered the Israeli ambassadors from Dublin and Oslo to be returned to Israel for urgent consultations in Jerusalem.”

“The hasty move by both countries will have other serious consequences. If Spain follows through on its intention to recognize a Palestinian state, a similar step will be taken against it.“
