Following his conviction in the New York hush money trial, Donald Trump’s campaign announced a remarkable surge in online small-dollar donations, totaling $35 million.

Trump’s team attributed this unprecedented support to the conviction, claiming it had energized his base “like never before.” The fundraising figure nearly doubled the campaign’s previous best on WinRed, the official Republican Party donation platform.

Senior campaign aides Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles emphasized the outpouring of support from both existing and new donors, with 30 percent of the total contribution originating from new donors to the platform. Despite temporary online delays due to the overwhelming traffic, Trump raised $34.8 million within minutes of the trial verdict.

Trump’s legal troubles, including his conviction on 34 charges related to falsifying business records, have not deterred his base of supporters, who continue to rally behind him. The campaign wasted no time capitalizing on the conviction, redirecting visitors to its fundraising page, which crashed briefly due to the influx of supporters.

Trump has consistently framed his legal battles as part of a larger struggle against perceived political adversaries, including the “deep state” and the Biden administration. On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump reiterated his defiance, labeling the trial as a “WITCH HUNT” and portraying himself as a martyr fighting for his supporters’ cause.
