ASR Africa to Build Hostel Block at Federal University of Technology, Minna
The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) is launching the construction of a modern hostel block at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. This philanthropic endeavor, led by BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu (CFR, CON), aims to provide contemporary accommodation for undergraduate students on the university’s main campus. The hostel will house 108 students and include amenities like laundries, kitchenettes, common rooms, and a warden’s quarters.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Vice Chancellor of the University, expressed gratitude for being selected as a beneficiary of the ASR Africa Tertiary Education Grant Scheme. He emphasized the positive impact the new hostel will have on student security and well-being.
Dr. Ubon Udoh, Managing Director of ASR Africa, praised the University of Minna’s esteemed reputation and its commitment to student safety. He highlighted the importance of relocating temporary accommodations back to the main campus and urged students to utilize the new facilities responsibly.
The hostel will feature apartment-style accommodations, with each room equipped with en-suite bathrooms. This design promotes hygiene and encourages student responsibility, aligning with the university’s goals.
ASR Africa, spearheaded by Abdul Samad Rabiu, aims to address developmental challenges in Africa, focusing on health, education, and social development.
