Bauchi Government Warns of Scholarship Revocation for Inattentive Students

Bauchi State Government to Halt External Exam Fee Payments for Truant Students

Commissioner for Education, Jamila Dahiru, issued a caution in Bauchi during her inspection of schools, stating that the government would stop covering external exam fees for Senior Secondary Three (SS3) students who skip classes.

Governor Bala Mohammed had allocated N396.9 million for the 2023/2024 external exams of 14,170 students in public schools.

Dahiru expressed concern that many students only attend school for mock exams and then disappear until external exams, neglecting their studies.

She emphasized the need for students to attend classes regularly and warned that the government would focus on supporting those who are committed to their education.

Dahiru also admonished teachers to be punctual and adhere to the standard teaching schedule, directing them to be on school premises by 7:30 am.
