WAEC Reports 1.8 Million Registrants for WASSCE

The West African Examinations Council, Nigeria, reports that 1,814,344 candidates from 22,229 schools have enrolled for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates.

Dr. Amos Dangut, Head of Nigeria Office, revealed that out of this figure, 902,328 are males, constituting 49.73%, while 912,016 are females, making up 50.27%.

He emphasized a notable increase in both male and female candidates compared to the previous year, with an overall rise of 192,948 candidates.

Dangut affirmed the council’s readiness to administer the examination, which began on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, and will conclude on Monday, June 24, 2024, spanning seven weeks and six day.
