“EFCC Plans to Arrest Me for Naira Abuse”, Claims Portable
Controversial musician Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has claimed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is plotting his arrest over allegations of Naira abuse. Portable, currently residing abroad, alleges that EFCC operatives intend to apprehend him upon his return to Nigeria.
The ‘Zazu’ singer, who recently appealed to EFCC to pardon him if they possess evidence of him misusing the Naira, now feels targeted after social media personality VeryDarkMan purportedly urged the agency to investigate Portable for allegedly abusing the currency.
During an Instagram live session with his fans, Portable expressed his apprehension, stating, “I am fearful. EFCC is scheming to detain me upon my arrival in Nigeria because VeryDarkMan implicated me.”
Addressing VeryDarkMan, Portable criticized his involvement, saying, “You chatter too much. Spare your opinions for those with meaningful contributions. Are you a law enforcer? Your viewpoints on public matters are best suited for individuals within law enforcement agencies. When you faced arrest, it was Nigerians who pleaded for your release. Upon your release, you appeared emaciated; your robustness vanished.”
He continued, “And now you boast. Leave discussions to those with sound judgment. You delve into discussions about women, politics, and everything. What is your occupation? Gibberish.”
