Mama G Attributes Incessant Deaths Among Nollywood Stars to Carelessness and Negligence
Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor, known as Mama G, has attributed the frequent deaths among Nollywood actors to carelessness and negligence on their part.
Speaking in Lagos recently, Mama G expressed concern over actors neglecting their health while engrossed in their work. She criticized the habit of seeking quick fixes like visiting chemists instead of proper medical check-ups when ill.
“I blamed it on carelessness,” she remarked. “We are trying to put smiles on the faces of people while forgetting to take care of our health.”
Mama G also shared why she became emotional at the burial of late actor John Okafor, Mr. Ibu. Recalling the moment she realized he was gone forever, she broke down in tears.
“When I went close to his corpse and called him, he didn’t respond,” she explained. “That’s when it hit me that this man is gone forever.”
Reflecting on her spiritual journey, Mama G recounted a transformative encounter in 2016 when she felt called by God. Initially hesitant, she eventually spent 30 days in spiritual isolation, emerging profoundly changed.
“After the encounter, I began to receive invitations to share my testimony at various events,” she said. “That’s how I transitioned into becoming an evangelist.”
Mama G urged her colleagues in the industry to prioritize regular medical check-ups and adopt healthier lifestyles to avoid premature deaths.
