Gunmen Abduct PDP Chieftain in Oyo

A prominent Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in Oyo State, Benedict Akika, was reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday night.

He was abducted from his residence in Olorunda, Lagelu Local Government Area.

According to investigations by NIGERIA NEWS 247, armed gunmen stormed Akika’s home, threatening to shoot anyone who resisted.

A family source, who preferred to remain anonymous, revealed that Akika was relaxing with his family when the attackers arrived.

“They fired sporadic gunshots to scare residents and bystanders before whisking him away to an unknown destination,” the source added.

As of press time, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached for comment.
