Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, have arrested four individuals suspected of vandalism and transporting stolen telecommunication cables, wires, and electrical transformer components from Kano to Lagos.

The suspects—Mogaji Ibrahim, Umaru Adamu, Abba Muhazu, and Adamu Idris—were apprehended at the old Ore Toll Gate along the Lagos Expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area.

Daniel Aidamenbor, the NSCDC Ondo spokesperson, said the arrest was made following actionable intelligence. “They were caught transporting vandalised telecommunication wires, BEDC transformer parts, high tension cables, copper and armoured cables, and other cut-to-size metal objects from Kano to Lagos,” he explained.

The stolen items have been recovered and preserved as evidence. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue to identify their sponsors and possible collaborators.

Aidamenbor reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to combating economic sabotage and protecting critical national infrastructure across Nigeria.
