Plateau Governor Further Eases Curfew
The Plateau State Government has further relaxed the 24-hour curfew previously imposed on Jos, allowing movement from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, effective from Saturday until further notice.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang issued this order on Friday through a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Guanp Bere, titled “Plateau State Government Further Relaxes Curfew on Jos-Bukuru Metropolis.”
This decision follows a previous relaxation of the curfew, which permitted movement from 12 noon to 6 p.m. daily. The governor stated that the latest adjustment was made due to improved security and the commendable behavior of residents.
The statement read, “Effective Saturday, August 10, 2024, residents are now permitted to carry out their lawful activities between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, until further notice.”
Governor Mutfwang thanked the people of Plateau State for their patriotism and cooperation during these challenging times and praised the security personnel for their dedication in enforcing the curfew. He also urged residents to continue collaborating with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property and to support efforts toward building a united and prosperous state.
