Police Bust Kidnapping Ring, Arrest Suspect in Kaduna
A notorious kidnapper named Abdulrahman has been arrested by the Kaduna State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
The suspect, from Karshi, Abuja, was caught with an AK-47 rifle and 27 live rounds of ammunition. The arrest was announced by the state Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, in a statement on Wednesday. During interrogation, Abdulrahman confessed to involvement in several kidnappings in the Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Police PPRO quoted Commissioner of Police Audu Dabigi, who praised the officers for the arrest, highlighting the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the state. He described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing fight against kidnapping in the region.
Hassan noted that investigations are ongoing and the suspect will be prosecuted once preliminary inquiries are completed.
“The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Kaduna State Police Command has successfully apprehended a notorious kidnapper. The suspect, identified as Abdulrahman of Karshi, Abuja, was arrested in possession of an AK-47 rifle and 27 rounds of live ammunition in Karshi,” Hassan stated. “Upon interrogation, Abdulrahman confessed to involvement in several kidnappings in the Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Further investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be prosecuted upon completion of preliminary investigations.”
Commissioner of Police CP Audu Ali Dabigi commended the officers for their exemplary work and assured the public of the command’s unwavering commitment to protecting life and property throughout the state.
