Zamfara: ZAGIS Encourages Landowners to Secure Ownership Certificates for Improved Security

The Zamfara State Geographic Information Service (ZAGIS) has urged landowners to secure certificates for their land’s safety and legality. Executive Secretary ESV Abubakar Muhammed Mafara emphasized this during a Zamfara Radio phone-in program titled “Da Ruwan Ciki Akanja Na Rijiya,” sponsored by the Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service.

Mafara highlighted that all land plots without certification risk being deemed illegal and subject to government revocation. ZAGIS, known for its significant revenue generation role in Zamfara, is tasked with distributing and issuing land ownership certificates among other responsibilities.

ESV Ummaru Maru, the agency’s Director of Lands, elaborated on the various taxes collected and ZAGIS’s operational activities. Alhaji Hadi Bawa Gusau, representing Executive Chairperson Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo of the State Internal Revenue Service, emphasized the importance of ZAGIS’s participation in enhancing state revenue generation.

The Executive Secretary was accompanied by all ZAGIS directors, alongside Deputy Director of Information and Intelligence Gathering at ZIRS, Zayyanu Muhammad, and P.R.O. Sanusi Ibrahim S/Yamma.
