Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to address the recent electricity tariff hikes in Nigeria.

Igbokwe, a strong supporter of Tinubu’s presidency, warned that the new tariffs could devastate businesses if not urgently reviewed. In a Facebook post on Saturday, he expressed frustration over how N20,000 worth of electricity units now lasts only one day.

Igbokwe, who operates a small office in Surulere with several air conditioners, noted that they previously received over 300 units for N20,000, but now that same amount of money buys only a single day’s worth of electricity. He urged the government to reconsider the tariff increases, stating:

“PBAT, please address the new electricity tariff in Nigeria. It will harm businesses if the government does not act swiftly. My small office with about 7 AC units now finds that N20,000 worth of electricity lasts just one day. This is what they call Band A group. I hope we can review this issue.”
