In a statement issued on Thursday, company spokesperson Anthony Chiejina emphasized that the trucks involved in the separate crashes did not belong to Dangote Group or any of its subsidiaries.

This clarification aligns with the Enugu State Police Command’s findings, which confirmed that the vehicles involved were owned by two logistics companies — Visco Investment Global and Global Investment. The crashes claimed the lives of ten people.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the victims of these tragic incidents and their families,” the Dangote Group said in its statement.

The company also raised concerns about the growing trend of misinformation linking unrelated road accidents to its brand, often without verification or credible evidence.

Dangote Group called on the public and media to verify information before dissemination, stressing its ongoing commitment to road safety and ethical corporate practices.

The statement further revealed that the company has consistently warned independent truckers and logistics operators against unauthorized use of the Dangote logo on their vehicles, which often leads to misidentification.

To address the issue, the company vowed to strengthen monitoring efforts and pursue legal action against individuals or firms misusing its brand identity.
