EEDC Announces Scheduled Power Outage in Enugu Metropolis on October 1

The MainPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MEDL), a subsidiary of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), has announced a planned power outage affecting parts of Enugu Metropolis on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

According to Emeka Ezeh, Head of Communications at MEDL, the outage will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The interruption is necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to carry out essential maintenance work on its infrastructure.

The maintenance will impact several 33KV feeders and lines, including Kingsway (Lines 1 & 2), Emene Industrial (Lines 1 & 2), Ugwuogo, Thinkers Corner, Trans Ekulu, Ituku Ozalla, and Government House.

Areas expected to experience power disruption include the entire Abakpa District, 9th Mile and surrounding communities, Government House and environs, Shoprite Axis, Golf Estate, Zoo Estate, Okpara Avenue, Kingsway Area, Abakaliki Road, CBN Quarters, Railway Quarters, Artisan, Ngwo, Coal Camp, Ologo Quarters, Uwani, Asata, Golden Royale, and Iva Valley.

MEDL apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and assures customers that power supply will be restored promptly upon completion of the maintenance.
