EndBadGovernance: Organizers Plan One-Million-Man Protest Across 36 States, FCT on Saturday
The Take It Back Movement, a key organizer of the EndBadGovernance nationwide protest, has announced plans for a one-million-man protest to take place on Saturday across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Mr. Sanyaolu Juwon, the National Coordinator of the movement, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He stated, “The Take It Back Movement (TIB), in collaboration with other organizers and organizations, will on August 10 lead a monumental one-million-man protest in each of the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
“This event represents a critical moment in our nationwide EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign, which began on August 1, 2024. What started as a planned 10-day protest has now evolved into a sustained and widespread movement, drawing participants from across Nigeria and the diaspora.”
NIGERIA NEWS 247 reports that the protest, which aims to draw attention to the hardships facing citizens, began on August 1 and is expected to conclude on Saturday, August 10.
Despite the protest being hijacked by criminal elements, it has seen a large turnout across the country, especially in the northern states.
Even after President Bola Tinubu’s appeal in a nationwide broadcast on Sunday, urging protesters to stand down and give his administration more time, the demonstrations have continued in Abuja, Kano, and other parts of the country.
