Federal Government Distributes 44,400 Bags of Rice to 36 States and FCT

The Federal Government has announced the dispatch of 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as part of measures to alleviate the economic burden on Nigerians.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, revealed this to State House correspondents following the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, on Monday.

Idris stated that each state has received truckloads of rice, each containing 1,200 bags of 25kg rice, for distribution to the most vulnerable individuals and families.

He emphasized that this consignment is the first step by the federal government to provide support to all sub-national entities.

The Minister noted that state governments are expected to distribute the rice to help mitigate the current hardship in the country.
