Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Adviser on Publicity and Communication to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that not all orders from a superior are automatically meant to be obeyed.

Olayinka made the comment on Wednesday during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme, monitored by NIGERIA NEWS 247.

He was responding to a clash between his principal and Nigerian Navy personnel over access to a parcel of land in the FCT.

NIGERIA NEWS 247 reports that on Tuesday, Wike and officials of the FCT Authority (FCTA) had a confrontation with naval officers in Abuja regarding the land.

Commenting on the incident, Olayinka said, “Not all orders are meant to be obeyed just because they come from your superior, except they are lawful. We got what happened yesterday because of the way we operate in this country—zero attitude to compliance. That’s what we are, and it is painful.”
