Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, stated that the Nigerian government’s inability to prevent the ongoing nationwide protest has resulted in significant harm.

In a post on his X account on Friday, Amadi noted that the government had three weeks to avert the protest through effective communication and respectful engagement with citizens. However, instead of taking these steps, the government allegedly resorted to mobilizing thugs and paying people to speak against the protest organizers.

He wrote, “The government had three weeks to abort this protest through good communication and respectful engagement with citizens. But it resorted to mobilizing thugs and paying people to speak against so-called organizers. Now government failure has caused massive damage.”
