1. The Labour Party (LP) leadership has condemned the removal of Senator Ali Ndume as the Senate chief whip. On Wednesday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio read a letter from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership demanding Ndume’s removal as a principal officer in the 10th Senate.
2. President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, announced that the appointment takes effect from August 14, 2024.
3. A mild drama unfolded at the Katsina State Government House on Wednesday when members of the state House of Assembly walked out of a meeting with Governor Dikko Radda to protest being asked to drop their mobile phones at the reception before entering the council chamber.
4. Gunmen shot dead the Village Head of Kurmin-Kare, Ishaya Barnabas, and abducted three other residents in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A resident, Shehu Baba, said the incident occurred on Tuesday around midnight.

During a webinar with journalists on Wednesday, MEMAN disclosed that the landing cost of diesel was N1,157/litre, while aviation fuel was N1,127/litre.
