Former Governor of Sokoto State and current Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Tambuwal, has refuted claims that the coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is promoting a pro-northern political agenda.

Speaking during an appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme aired on Friday, Tambuwal emphasized that the opposition alliance is a diverse and inclusive national coalition.

“Is Peter Obi from Northern Nigeria? Is Aregbesola not from Osun State? What are you telling me? Aren’t they all part of the coalition?” he asked, challenging the idea that the movement is regionally biased.

Tambuwal called for a democratic change of leadership in the 2027 general elections, urging Nigerians to push for a government that better reflects their aspirations.

He also criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating it has fallen short of the people’s expectations.

“It is not cast in stone that he cannot lose in 2027,” Tambuwal said. “All the talk that Bola Tinubu is unbeatable or invincible is nonsense.”

Tambuwal’s comments come amid growing conversations about opposition unity ahead of the 2027 elections, as various political groups seek to form a viable alternative to the current administration.
