Katsina Governor, Dikko Radda Criticizes Newly Formed Opposition Coalition as ‘Disgruntled’
Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has dismissed members of the recently formed opposition coalition as disgruntled individuals unhappy because they are not part of the government.
Speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ program, Radda urged Nigerians to be realistic and stop being deceived.
“Who was not in government in the last regime? Who is not in government now? We know everyone’s track record,” he said. “They are now crying and shouting simply because they are outside government.”
The coalition, which Nigeria News 247 reports adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after months of negotiations, named former Senate President David Mark as interim national chairman, former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola as secretary, and Bolaji Abdullahi as spokesman.
In his acceptance speech, Mark accused the APC-led federal government of turning Nigeria into a one-party state.
Responding, Governor Radda challenged the coalition to present a clear agenda to Nigerians.
“If they truly have something new, Nigerians will embrace it. Who are these people? Why weren’t they in other coalitions before? What will they do differently? Can they promise Nigerians real change?” he asked.
Radda further questioned their plans on key issues like the fuel subsidy: “If they intend to restore the subsidy, how will they fund it? What resources will they use to run the government?”
He concluded by urging opposition candidates to clearly communicate their policies and plans to Nigerians.
