The Imo State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), James Okoroma, recently convened a strategic meeting with all 27 Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen to strengthen party unity and consolidate its position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Held at the party’s office in New Owerri, the gathering brought together LGA Chairmen and other stakeholders, who reaffirmed their commitment to securing a decisive victory for ADC in the upcoming elections. Addressing the attendees, Okoroma highlighted that the meeting reflected the party’s growing influence and internal cohesion across the state.
Reviewing the party’s progress, the State Chairman noted that the ongoing membership drive and revalidation exercise had bolstered ADC’s grassroots presence. He commended the LGA Chairmen for their leadership, sacrifices, and effective coordination during the distribution and return of Ward Party Registers, emphasizing that their efforts ensured the exercise was conducted peacefully and efficiently.
Okoroma stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization and urged party leaders, particularly at Ward and LGA levels, to uphold integrity, inclusiveness, and dedication in their roles. He reiterated that expanding the party’s reach and bringing more people into its fold remains a top priority for ADC.
In response, the LGA Chairmen, led by Omah Pius Omah, expressed appreciation to the State Working Committee for its visionary leadership. They pledged to deepen grassroots engagement, strengthen party structures, and work collectively to ensure ADC’s success in the 2027 general elections.
